On 30 September, International Translation Day is celebrated. In the Catholic Church, 30 September is the feast day of Saint Jerome (347-420), who translated the Old and New Testament from Greek and Hebrew into Latin (the Vulgate). It took him 24 years to complete. St. Jerome is the patron saint of translators, among others.
